Peran Penyuluh Agama dalam Mewujudkan Keluarga Sakinah di Kecamatan Lubuklinggau Barat I Kota Lubuklinggau

Abstract

Family is a fundamental social institution that plays a strategic role in shaping the quality of individuals and society. In the Islamic perspective, the ideal family is conceptualized as a sakinah family, which is built upon faith, tranquility, affection, and religious values. However, current realities indicate a persistently high divorce rate in Indonesia, including in Lubuklinggau City, suggesting that the understanding and implementation of the sakinah family concept have not been optimal within society. This study aims to analyze the role of religious counselors in realizing sakinah families in Lubuklinggau Barat I District, Lubuklinggau City. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive techniques. The findings reveal that religious counselors play a highly strategic role through three primary functions: informative, educative, and consultative. The informative role is manifested through the delivery of religious teachings related to family life, including the rights and responsibilities of spouses and the importance of harmonious communication. The educative role is carried out through guidance activities such as religious gatherings and study groups aimed at enhancing the moral and spiritual understanding of the community. Meanwhile, the consultative role is implemented through premarital guidance and family counseling services, assisting the community in resolving various household problems in a solution-oriented and empathetic manner. Thus, religious counselors function not only as conveyors of religious teachings but also as guides and problem solvers in community life, contributing to the realization of sakinah families.
