The development of digital technology has made social media one of the main spaces for Generation Z to obtain information and develop political attitudes. This study aims to analyze the impact of social media on the formation of Generation Z's political attitudes in determining their choices in the 2024 General Election and to examine its relevance to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions and Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with an empirical juridical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires involving 51 students from various faculties at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The results show that social media plays an important role in shaping the political attitudes of Generation Z. A total of 98% of respondents obtained political information through social media, while 51% stated that political content sufficiently influenced their political decisions. Instagram and TikTok were the dominant platforms used. Nevertheless, respondents recognized the risks of hoaxes, disinformation, and propaganda and reported verifying the information they received. From a legal perspective, the ITE Law establishes limitations on the dissemination of unlawful content, while the General Election Law regulates social media as a campaign medium. Thus, social media can strengthen Generation Z's political participation when accompanied by digital literacy, critical attitudes, and legal responsibility.
