The management of public assets and natural resources plays a crucial role in realizing public welfare and maintaining economic justice. Natural resources are essentially public property that must be managed responsibly for the benefit of the wider community. However, in practice, various problems remain, such as monopolistic practices, unequal distribution of benefits, and excessive exploitation that can be detrimental to public welfare. This article aims to explain the concept of natural resources as public property, examine the prohibition of monopolies in the management of public assets and natural resources, and explain the role of the state in realizing public welfare. The method used in this article is a normative literature study through books, journals, and various related scientific references. The results of the discussion indicate that the state has the authority and responsibility to regulate, supervise, and manage natural resources to prevent their control by certain groups. Monopolistic practices in strategic sectors can create social inequality, limit public access, and undermine economic justice. Therefore, effective state regulation, fair oversight, and the application of ethical economic principles are needed to create sustainable and equitable prosperity for the community.
