This study aims to analyze the da’wah strategies implemented by Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia (IZI) of North Sumatra in fostering converts to Islam through the Kampung Bina Mualaf Program in Kuala Dekah Village, particularly in strengthening their faith (aqidah) and Islamic identity. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method. Research informants were selected through purposive sampling, while data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed through several stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results show that IZI North Sumatra implements four main da’wah strategies in fostering converts to Islam: mentoring, independent learning, tutor assistance, and a door-to-door (jemput bola) approach. These strategies are implemented gradually by adapting to the converts’ level of understanding and needs through the provision of basic Islamic knowledge, Qur’anic learning, worship practices, personal guidance, and direct visits to converts’ homes. The implementation of the program is also supported by the functions of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the program indicate an improvement in the converts’ religious understanding and consistency in performing religious practices. However, the implementation of the program still faces several challenges, including geographical conditions, limited human resources and funding, social resistance, and the social and economic difficulties experienced by converts to Islam.
