Abstract

This article aims to make an addition to the field of diplomacy in Islam. Combining two methodological approaches, those of area studies and those of Islamization of human knowledge, I aim to put forward the idea of including localized Islamic concepts to enhance the discussion about Islamic diplomacy. Silaturahmi as understood and practiced in the region of Nusantara, and especially in Indonesia, serves as an example.
