Analisis Pemanfaatan Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) dalam Pembelajaran Calistung di PAUD Surya Gumay Lubuklinggau

Abstract

Early childhood literacy and numeracy (calistung) learning should be carried out through enjoyable activities that match children’s characteristics, allowing them to learn actively, creatively, and without feeling burdened in classroom activities. However, in practice, learning still tends to use conventional methods and does not adequately utilize play-based learning media, which should be an essential part of early childhood education. This study aims to analyze the use of Educational Play Equipment (APE) in literacy and numeracy learning at PAUD Surya Gumay Lubuklinggau. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation as the main sources of research data. The results show that the use of APE is still not optimal because learning is dominated by the use of books and worksheets. In addition, the available APE is limited and not fully aligned with the needs of literacy and numeracy learning. As a result, children’s activeness and learning interest are low, and learning experiences are less meaningful and less engaging. Efforts to optimize the use of APE are needed to make learning more interesting, active, and appropriate for early childhood characteristics
